I get paid based on traffic to a website, is there any free automated way to just generate a lot of hits?
I don’t really care how or where these hits come from, just that there are a lot of them.
seo info looks neat and all, but it doesn’t quite fit the "free" part of the question.

There are many free ways to generate traffic to your site. One is submitting articles to article directories, another is to make posts to forums and another is to answer Yahoo questions. I have used all of those methods with some success. However, while those methods work, they can take a lot of time. There are some more automated methods you may want to look into as well. One is called Google Snatch 2. It claims to bring be aboe to bring "tidle waves" of traffic to your site. I haven’t used it yet, but you can check out what appears to be a very unbiased report at the source below. Good luck.
